Fentham P.S. is a small, friendly camera club which meets on Friday evenings at 8.00pm at Stockland Green Leisure Centre in Erdington, Birmingham. We have an excellent programme of visting speakers, competitions, practical nights and social events during our club year, which runs from September to May. Check the programme page for details of our current schedule.

Our members have a wide range of interests including black & white and colour prints, slides, projected digital images and audio visuals. Most people have now changed over to taking and showing their pictures digitally and we have lively group discussions on improving skills in the use of both hardware, and software such as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Thanks to the National Lottery 'Awards for All' initiative, we own a laptop computer and digital projector, which are used for club presentations and competitions.

LATEST NEWS- NEW DIGITAL IMAGING GROUP

Starting in September 2008, we will be running a monthly Digital Imaging Group designed to help anyone with a digital camera who wants to find out how it works and how to get the best results. Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of each month and the first is planned for 18th September. Full details will be posted shortly. We have a reputation among our visting speakers, judges and many other friends, as being one of the friendliest and most informal clubs in the Midlands. One example of this is our keenly anticipated cheese and wine evening, held every January as a thank-you for all of our guests during the year.

So, if you want to improve your photography, why not come and visit us on a Friday evening? You will be assured of a warm welcome.

Why Fentham? People sometimes ask "why is the club called Fentham?"
Well, when the society was founded in 1967, the meetings were held at the then Fentham Road Girl's School in Erdington. Although we have moved premises twice since then, the name has stayed the same.
